Elijah's Gift Bag
Our first born son, Elijah, has special needs and his sweet spirit in the face of so many challenges inspired us to start Elijah's Gift Bag! in 2007.
Every year, we help Baltimore families in need of support have gifts they selected from donations and our store stock under the tree for their kids.
Amazing Spiral
formerly Comics Kingdom
Amazing Spiral was started in 1991 under the name Comics Kingdom by Jay Bull. Comics Kingdom was located on the corner of 40th and Roland.
In 2001, Jay sold the store to employee, Driana Pearlman and her husband Sheldon and the name eventually changed to Amazing Spiral: Books, Comics, Toys & More!
The couple worked to make this hard core comic shop very child friendly.
Amazing Spiral has won Best of Baltimore: Comic Shop in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009. (the category was discontinued in 2011).
In 2006, the couple welcomed their first son, Elijah Santiago Pearlman, into the world. People came to the store just to visit Elijah!
In 2008, the store moved into the Rotunda Mall and New and Used Books were added to the store, as well as expanding the Toy section.
In 2013, less than 6 weeks after the birth of their second son, William Douglas Pearlman, the store moved again to its current location across from the Senator Theatre at: 5851 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212
